Frequently Asked Questions

  • We offer pack support for boats, frames, groceries, duffel and any other items you will need for a successful float trip.

    We also offer vehicle shuttles. Please reach out for more infomation.

    We do not offer pack support at the take-out, however, we can recommend an outfitter who can provide that service for you.

  • As soon as possible- dates fill quickly!

  • Give us a call at 406-880-7028 (Doog) or 406-880-1927 (Courtney). We require a deposit of 50% based on an estimate of weight and riders due at the time of booking. The remaining balance will be due at the trailhead when you drop your gear off. Cash, checks, venmo, and credit cards are accepted.

  • Plan on about 9 hours of horse-back riding or walking to get to the river. If we are taking you horseback, you can plan on a few 15-minute breaks to stretch your legs. We will provide all saddles, tack, and saddle bags for you and your horse.

    We do not provide any food or drinks for drop services, so please plan accordingly with your own meals for the morning of departure and lunch while we are on the trail.

  • Details will vary based on your trip. Most likely we will meet you at the trailhead the day before your trip date in the early afternoon to weigh and prep your gear into loads so we can get going as soon as possible the following day.

    We are most often traveling out of the Lodgepole Ck trailhead just outside of Ovando, MT.

  • Most standard rafts, inflatable kayaks, and pack-rafts work well. We can pack any raft that is 14’ in length or less.

  • Oars and frames must break down to 6’ or less in length. Most frame parts are acceptable. Disassembly is required. Don’t forget to bring a 2-way pump and tool kit as boats need to be completely deflated.

    The maximum size cooler we will pack is 65q for Yeti/RTIC/Grizzly brand heavily insulated coolers or 70qt for regular coolers.

    Preferred box dimensions are approximately 42” x 20” x 18” or less.

    There is a surcharge for anchors and paco-pads.

    We will not pack anything over 75 lbs, excluding rafts.

  • Deposits are nonrefundable. Booking entails holding a spot for you and your party and turning down other parties. Deposits can be transferable if you have another party to replace you. In the event of an extenuating circumstance such as a wildfire, USFS designated closure, or other natural disaster, deposits may be held for a future reservation within 2 years of booking.
